EEMCO
EEMCO’s story began in 2018, when EBNER’s dedicated team of innovators in Upper Austria embarked on researching and developing silicon carbide (SiC) growth technology. This groundbreaking work led to the founding of EEMCO in late 2020 as part of the EBNER GROUP‚s ADVANCED MATERIALS business unit.
Today, EEMCO specializes in the development and production of high-quality 150 and 200 mm SiC crystals using a proprietary physical vapor transport (PVT) process in dedicated furnaces. We leverage EBNER’s extensive knowledge in furnace design and crystal growth methods to continuously develop and refine its manufacturing processes.
As an independent, ISO-certified and green European supplier, we are building a resilient supply chain through collaborations with diverse partners. With Europe’s first zero-emission SiC production, powered by Norwegian hydroelectricity, EEMCO is committed to a greener future.

Enabling a sustainable, green and European
200 mm SiC substrate solution
The transition to a sustainable future for high power electronic devices relies on silicon carbide (SiC), crucial for green power electronics. Our solution aims to establish a fully European 200 mm SiC substrate supply chain, driving the development of next-gen SiC power devices.
At EEMCO we are leveraging our expertise to bring 200 mm SiC technology to Austria, with production starting in 2024. A mass production facility ARCTIC SIC in Norway, using 100% hydroelectric power, will begin operations in 2026. By 2027, we aim to complete a fully European supply chain, ensuring sustainable SiC substrate production.
